In Grade 4, we are embarking on a U.S. National Parks research project. The National Parks celebrated 100 years in 2016.

Students are in Step 1 of the research process, exploring both World Book Web (login is spoffordpond, password is wb3456) and Britannica School Edition (no log in needed) for general information about National Parks. They are also browsing through library books for more specific information about ten National Parks. Next up, students will be using both the National Park Service website and the National Park Foundation website to learn even more about National Parks.
MSLA Standard 2.10. Explain that there are different types of resources that can be used for different purposes: books, databases, periodicals, pre-selected class websites, reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauruses, almanacs, etc.
